Hit While Jogging on Country Club Drive?
The Circle is Aventura’s outdoor gym. Drivers rushing to their condos often forget they are sharing the road with thousands of runners, walkers, and strollers.
The 3-mile loop around Turnberry Isle (Country Club Drive) is the heart of the Aventura community. From 6:00 AM to midnight, it is packed with joggers, families with strollers, and seniors exercising.
Unfortunately, it is also the main access road for thousands of high-rise condo residents. Drivers notoriously speed around the curves, distracted by their phones, and turn aggressively into condo driveways without checking the sidewalk. When a 4,000lb SUV hits a runner, the results are catastrophic.
The Danger: The “Right Hook.” A driver turns right into their building (like The Hamptons or Williams Island) and cuts directly across the path of a jogger moving straight.
The Danger: Aventura has a high volume of pedestrian traffic walking to services, especially on Friday nights and Saturdays. Drivers often fail to yield at marked crosswalks.
The Danger: The sidewalk gets crowded. Runners often step onto the asphalt to pass a stroller. Drivers hugging the curb clip them from behind.
Insurance companies love to blame the pedestrian. They will argue that you were wearing dark clothes at night or that you “darted out” into traffic. We defeat this defense by using:
Hit and Run? It happens frequently on the Circle. If the driver fled, we can file a claim against your own “Uninsured Motorist” (UM) policy to pay for your recovery.
If a negligent driver ruined your routine, we will make them pay. Free Case Review.
